The Wraith

One of the things I hoped to be able to do by having my iPad, was draw for the Monster Book in the evenings(my big computer is at work). I'm continuing to practise in Sketchbook Pro, and here are my latest offerings.

We might use the close-up wraith illustration in the Monster Book and the full length wraith will take its place as a contender for the next Oubliette Compilation (Issues 5-8).

I realise I seem a little undead-centric, but this might be a result of watching The Walking Dead, which continues to be one of my favourite leisure-time programmes.

  1. What can I say? More awesomeness! You actually inspired me to give it a go on my new iPad. The good news is that I am much better on the iPad than paper. The bad news is I am not nearly at your level yet. I am using sketchbook pro and my finger, I could definitely use a stylus. I am going to post it over on my blog, check it out and let me know what you think. Notice the black and red color scheme, a bit of an Oubliette homage. Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. Wow, those are both great. I like the red highlights on the second one.

  3. The red colour was my first go at layers with the iPad. I love my iPad. I think I make it obvious from the way I cradle it when I'm not using it. Must snap out of my iPad love-in.

I wanted to work the idea of the wraith as an inter-dimensional being and also a creature of despair.
