More Projected Game Maps

I first posted about using a data projector in April.  Since then, I've used it a couple more times and I'm really pleased with the results.  The photos below show the playtest map for Tomb of the Snake King which I'm busy editing for Oubliette Issue 7.  Each map has a second layer of solid black added which is then gradually deleted as the players explore each area.

  1. I like this and have daydreamed similar ideas since I use a projector-based smartboard every day at work.

How do you create enough light for reading without downgradinig the visual quality too much?

    Also, have you considered this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5s5EvhHy7eQ&feature=player_embedded

  2. We've used it in the daytime and found it to be ideal. Some colours on maps can look a little washed out, but you can adjust for that with photo software. I also use a DLP projector as they tend to be a lot brighter than LCD. I'll try and put up another post later with some specs and details on how the projector is set up.

The wii/led pen is great. It has been on my to-do list for a while now. When I get round to making one I'll be sure to feature it on here.
