Last summer, I tried a small crowd-funding project to fund a print run of some B/X Character Sheet Pads. It didn't make its funding goal (I suspect because of the unavoidably high cost of overseas postage and also because it was on Indiegogo rather than Kickstarter).
One of the good things that came out of that campaign was a spin-off DTP reworking of a 1978 1st Edition Character Sheet. Everytime I looked at this sheet, I could not help thinking that it would be a great item to get printed and, if truth be told, it probably should have had star billing last time around. So today I'm launching a new crowd-funding project for pads of my version the 1978 1st Edition Character Sheet (this time on Kickstarter, as they are now allowing UK projects).

I was really disappointed that the b/x sheet didn't hit it's target so I have my fingers crossed that this one will.
ReplyDeleteI've already posted about them on Google+ in order to hopefully generate a bit of interest, but might I suggest you mention this Kickstarter on the various forums (Goblinoid Games, Dragonsfoot, UKRoleplayers even RPGnet).
Hi Wulfgar, thanks for being first in on this. I think this one stands a better chance than the b/x one. If it takes off then I may add in a free pad of the b/x ones as a stretch goal, but it's still early days so we'll see how it goes.
ReplyDeleteI'll get on to the forums next, and then I plan to do a small email campaign over the next few days.
Hi Peter, what about adding a new Pledge Level which includes some free Oubliette PDFs, this might get some additional money into the campaign?
ReplyDeleteI considered that from the start, but decided against it to keep the pledges simple. However, now I think you may be right, and it might get a few extra pounds in towards the goal or even help make the stretch goal happen. I'll have a look at it tonight and do an update on the KS page.
DeleteI hope you will reach the goal and the stretch goals. I want to get those pads. I will make another blogpost to get the german OSR- Community on board.
DeleteThanks. I'd really like them to get funded too. I've put the update up on Kickstarter and on this blog. Tonight I'll update all the forums I posted it on. Kicktraq has the project trending towards £414. If we can get there I'd be very happy indeed.
